After spending thousands of hours writing a book, at the very end of the process it was time to design a cover. I didn’t realize how much time and effort goes into that process, but I can say when I show the printed version of “Strategies for Cats” to people, I always hear two comments: The cover is beautiful, and it’s easy to read.  So I’m grateful and thankful to Diana M. Needham and Leslie Flowers for changing the way I think, and doing a magnificent job!

The book has two positioning statements, the first being “Change the way you think”. What does that mean? The way you think is a habit, a habit first taught to you by your parents then refined and defined over time by you and the people you allowed to be in your life. What you have attracted into your life, your relationships, your family, your look, your cars, your home, your wealth, your debt, your career, EVERYTHING has been attracted into your life because of the power of your subconscious mind…and the way you think.

What’s the benefit of changing the way you think? If you want the things around you to improve, you want better relationships, look better, own nicer cars, have vacation homes, lots of money, getting your dream job, you have to change something, don’t you? Remember the definition of insanity? So here’s your answer, your secret, your strategy to getting what you want. It begins with one premise:

Change the way you think.

In Strategies for Cats (Johnston, 2016), our cat begins with absolutely nothing, then ends up living in a beautiful home, surrounded by a loving family who agrees to take care of her for the rest of her life. What happened? Her voice (subconscious mind) was able to help her learn how it actually works. One of the first things it taught her was the power of a lullaby (defined as “a soothing refrain”), a simple yet powerful way to communicate your wants and dreams directly to your subconscious mind just as you go to sleep, and while you’re waking up.

Repetition (Strategy #20) of your lullaby during these times, then during the day as a part of meditation or Positive Prayer (Strategy #15), over a minimum of three (3) weeks (habits are formed in at least 21-days) will imprint the words of your lullaby onto your subconscious mind, then it must manifest your wish, your desire, into your material life provided you are now expecting it to happen (expectancy and repetition create Faith, Strategy #9).

In the book The Power of Your Subconscious Mind (Murphy, 2007), his lullaby is simply one word:


Repetition of the word “wealth” is perfect. It’s not in conflict with the truth, you’re not tricking your mind into anything but rather stating what you want, who you are, what you expect. And since the word “wealth” crosses over into so many areas (wealthy in relationships, wealthy in happiness, etc.) it is a perfect lullaby designed to change the way you think!
